Interbourse is not just a skiing event – it is a race, a network and a lot of fun which has been ongoing for almost 50 years now!
Once a year, the financial community meets for a week of networking and skiing. The participants come from many areas of the financial landscape: there are about 400 bankers, private equity professionals, portfolio managers, traders, analysts, brokers, international exchange representatives and more. They originate from all over the world – roughly 60% are European, from financial centres in at least nine countries. There are also large groups from the US and from Canada and several participants from Australia and Singapore.
The first Interbourse was held in France in 1969. Participants from three European exchanges organized the event. Since then, the gathering has travelled throughout the world with a different Team organizing the event every year.
The programme starts with a discovery day. Guides will show you around the ski areas in small groups.
The first night always starts with a welcome event, to introduce all participants and celebrate the start of a great week.
The two racing days form the weeks’ highlights. The Team Giant Slalom event tests the fastest skiers present. Anyone not qualified for the team official race, including snowboarders – who benefit from their own category – can try their best in the guest race (which benefits from age- and gender-related categories).
Parties, après-ski and DJ-fuelled ambiance at night will keep you going from one perfect ski day to the next. The week ends with a gala night – everyone comes together for a final time in 2017.
